Morven Ferry Cottage has strong links with the
pioneering days of the early Wakatipu and its colourful past. In its idyllic rural setting on Morven Ferry Road, 25 kilometres from Queenstown and 8 kilometres to Arrowtown, the century old cottage has recently been renovated, retaining much of its original character. Owners Kristin and Max Guthrie have modernised the cottage, to create a holiday haven in the country, which is ideally located to take advantage of the many facilities and amenities in the district.  Morven Ferry Cottage has stunning mountain views and is close to Coronet Peak, Cardrona Resort and the Remarkables ski areas. Ideal for families and couples the charming cottage is adjacent to the Guthrie’s home, where two rooms with Queen sized beds are available for extra guests. The cottage has a well appointed kitchen and separate living room/ dining room, bathroom and fully equipped laundry.  A log burner and electric heating ensure cosy winter warmth and all beds are equipped with electric blankets. Sky TV is installed. The old style veranda, overlooking a spacious lawn and country garden is a superb place to relax and enjoy the rustic surroundings, during the summer months. Hens roam around the property and free range eggs are available for guests. Sophie the friendly Labrador is always eager for walks.  Morven Ferry Cottage is just a stone’s throw from the Arrowtown golf course while Millbrook and Queenstown golf courses are in easy driving distance. A commercial horse riding stables are located on Morven Ferry Road and mountain bikes are available at the cottage for guests’ use. Excellent walks are close by, in and around Arrowtown, or slightly further a field in Queenstown. Passive and adventure tourist activities abound in the region – parapenting, bungy jumping, fishing, jet boating, lake cruising to name just a few.  Max and Kristin Guthrie welcome visitors from all over the world. As well established locals they have an intimate knowledge of the area and what it has to offer. Their commitment to providing an individual and personal service ensures guests will take away lifelong memories of their stay at Morven Ferry Cottage.
